Our award winning herdsires and our excellent foundation herd are creating award-winning cria available to you today. All of our open females come with a breeding of your choice to one of our Sunburst owned herdsires. Any female purchased from Sunburst Alpacas is entitled to Discounted Breeding for their lifetime- or as long as you own them!

ABOUT US

Sunburst Alpacas began as an idea in 1997. It was love at first sight for my husband Pete! Those big round eyes, that fluffy topknot! Those long skinny necks! Yes! They were shorn.... later we found out after some farm visits and open houses that these little guys were indeed fluffy all over! Shortly after our very first sighting of the allusive alpaca we too decided to start our own alpaca farm. By the following year we had purchased most of our breeding stock, had birthed our first cria and were well on our way!

It would be several years later, we decided we might just be able so sell one of our prized little alpacas. It was tough! Because up to now we were just “COLLECTORS” you might say! We put a lot of time into each alpaca, and we tend to fall in love with every cria! BUT we have decided that with the investment made on the sold cria would almost guarantee it a great home!

My late husband Pete and I greatly enjoyed the lifestyle that comes with raising these wonderful animals. Sadly, Pete passed away in early 2003. My daughter Sherri and her husband Bruce now assist me with the farm as well as my granddaughter, Angela (our future veterinarian).

Our herd consists of a select group of foundation females, which is the heart of our operation as well as our studs, whom we seem to favor. Our Peruvian and Chilean bloodlines are form the best studs from around the country. Our alpacas, both male and female are available in a variety of the 16 colors recognized by the alpaca registry! If we don’t have your color we can help you locate it! Just ask.
